Hello there!

Raise your hand if you’re a wedding pro who knows you should write wedding blogs for your wedding business, but for whatever reason, it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your never-ending to-do list. Maybe you’re worried no one is reading your blog, or you’re just tired of staring at a blank page, unsure of what to say. Whatever the reason, you’ve got a million things to do, and blogging never seems to make it to the top of the list.

Despite how effective blogging is for wedding pros, I don’t have to tell you that your couples are out there doing their research and taking their time with the booking process, especially in 2025. Blogging is still one of the best ways to show up in search results and reassure potential clients that you’re the right fit for them.

So today, I want to help you. I’m going to share some tips to speed up the process of writing wedding blogs — and yes, help you write wedding blogs in under an hour.

I’m so excited you’re here! If you don’t know me yet, I’m Kara — a former destination wedding planner turned blog writer and Pinterest manager for creative business owners like my fellow wedding pros. My team and I write an average of about 140 blog posts a month, so trust me when I say I know what I’m talking about. In this video, I’m going to walk you through:

  • What today’s couples are actually looking for in wedding blog posts
  • How to make sure your posts rank on Google
  • My favorite time-saving tricks to write faster without sacrificing quality.

Plus, I’ve got a free resource to make it even easier! Head here to grab my free guide to blog posts that sell.

First, let’s talk about what couples actually want in wedding blogs.

We’re way past the days of a short intro paragraph followed by a giant photo dump. Couples today want less fluff, more real stories, and tangible inspiration. They want to get a feel for what their wedding could actually look like if they hire you, and they want to do their research — because let’s be honest, there’s not always a lot of trust in the wedding industry right now. That’s why they want to see emotional moments, specific details, helpful takeaways, vendor recommendations, timeline ideas, and unique elements that reflect their personal style.

More and more couples want a wedding that feels like them — not a cookie-cutter version of someone else’s.

As a wedding pro, you’re already creating those one-of-a-kind experiences, so your blog should reflect that. When you’re thinking about what to blog, ask yourself: What would a couple be Googling right now? And write with that in mind.

There are really two types of blog content you can create:

1. Real Weddings

But you need to feature them well. No more short blurbs followed by 100 photos. Instead, infuse storytelling throughout the post. This doesn’t have to be complicated. You can follow a simple formula:

  • Introduce the overall vision of the day.
  • Briefly introduce yourself (I’ll share my SEO formula for this in a bit).
  • Walk through the day in chronological order: getting ready, first look, ceremony, reception details, and reception in action.

Sprinkle photos throughout. Most people will skim, but they still need context for the images to stay engaged. Pretty pictures alone aren’t enough. The goal isn’t just to inspire them — it’s to bring potential clients into your world and make them want to hire you.

2. Aspirational or Educational Content

You’re the expert, so share your knowledge! What floral trends are you seeing? What creative reception ideas are popular? What questions do couples have? Even if your couples aren’t planning everything themselves, they’re still gathering ideas before hiring vendors. Their first search usually isn’t “wedding planner in XYZ city.” Instead, they’re searching for inspiration: “spring wedding ideas,” “summer wedding colors,” “best wedding venues in XYZ city,” and so on. This is where you can show up and start building that connection before they even inquire.

Hopefully, that’s already sparking some ideas for you because, honestly, the possibilities are endless. Some of my clients have been with me for over four years, and I’ve never run out of blog ideas — because that’s literally my job! Trust me, you can find plenty of content ideas for your business too.

Blog Writing Formula to Write Wedding Blogs Faster

Now let me walk you through my blog writing formula — not just for SEO, but for writing wedding blogs faster and more effectively. Honestly, I should probably come up with a better name for it, but here we are. Having a formula makes writing so much faster, and it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m able to produce so many blog posts so quickly.

Step 1: The Introduction (First Paragraph)

Start by introducing the topic right away — this is where you want to include your main keyword. Whether it’s “spring wedding ideas” or “top wedding venues in [your city],” get that keyword into the very first paragraph. Don’t bury the lead. We’ve all seen those food blogs that go on for 4,000 words before giving you the recipe — couples don’t want that, and neither does Google. You need to give them a win right away.

Step 2: Introduce Yourself (Second Paragraph)

This is my biggest tip for conversion. Most people don’t land on your blog from your homepage. They find you on Google and land directly on a blog post. If you don’t explicitly say who you are, what you do, and how you can help, they may not realize you’re a service provider who can help them create exactly what you’re showing. They might assume you’re just an inspiration site like The Knot or Brides. Be very clear that you can turn these ideas into reality for them.

Step 3: Share the Content

If you’re writing about a real wedding, keep it simple and go in chronological order:

  • Getting ready
  • First look
  • Ceremony
  • Reception details
  • Reception in action
  • Meaningful moments throughout

Infuse personal details and storytelling where you can. Include photos as you go — most people will skim, but they still want context for the images. The goal isn’t just to inspire couples, but to make them want to hire you.

Step 4: The Wrap-Up & Call to Action

End with a quick recap: “What a beautiful wedding day [couple’s name] had at [venue].” Then include multiple calls to action. I know a lot of people say to only have one CTA per page, but I don’t agree. People are visiting your blog at all different stages of their planning process. Some just got engaged and want to see more blog posts; others might be ready to learn more about your services. I like to include options like:

  • Read another blog post
  • Follow me on Instagram for behind-the-scenes content
  • Check out my services page
  • Contact me directly

3 Ways to Speed Up Blog Writing (and Write Wedding Blogs in Under an Hour)

Use a Proven Formula to Write Wedding Blogs

Following a formula to write wedding blogs, like the one I just shared, is the fastest way to streamline your writing. If you want more help, grab my free guide to Blog Posts That Sell here.

Use ChatGPT Strategically

Of course, we’re not handing over the entire blog post to AI. But you can use ChatGPT to brainstorm outlines, headlines, reword intros, or help with awkward transitions. For example, if you’re a calligrapher and you weren’t actually at the wedding, you can pull a few key details from the gallery and ask ChatGPT to help you build out a paragraph. I still recommend editing and adding your own perspective — because Google wants your voice, not AI content — but AI can definitely help speed things up as long as you’re using it intentionally.

Focus on Photos & Formatting

Yes, you want to hit a certain word count — typically around 1,000 to 1,500 words depending on your market — but don’t forget formatting. I often spend just as much time on formatting as I do writing. Use plenty of white space to make the blog easy to skim. And of course, photos are essential. Your words support the visuals, but visuals are what will keep couples engaged. If you’re just getting started and don’t have a big gallery yet, consider investing in a stock photo subscription. I personally love Source Co. (linked below). Otherwise, reach out to photographers for galleries — those relationships are gold.

Remember: couples are visual. We work in a visual industry, and beautiful images combined with helpful, skimmable text make your blog post a powerful marketing asset.
